Startup workshops give our startup attendees direct access to the world’s leading tech investors, accelerators, incubators and executives from our international partners. They’re an opportunity for startups to learn in an interactive and intimate setting from those driving change in their respective industries.
Workshops are open to all startup attendees. Startups will receive a link to sign up and have to confirm attendance in the weeks leading up to Web Summit.
Workshops run for approximately 45 minutes and focus on a specific topic chosen by the host. The final wording of the title and content of your workshop must be submitted to the Web Summit workshops manager, via the ScheduleOnce link supplied to you by Friday, September 27. It is advisable to choose content that will allow attendees to actively engage in the workshop. A schedule of all workshops will be available on the Web Summit app and website.
Workshops will take place in the startup workshops area, which can be located using the venue map in the Web Summit mobile app.
Please note: Startup workshops are distinct from partner workshops and will be held in a different area within the venue.
The title of your workshop should be no more than 60 characters in length. The description of your workshop should be no more than 250 characters in length. Titles and description must be confirmed through ScheduleOnce with the Web Summit workshops manager by Friday, September 27 in order for online registration for attendees to begin.
Please note: our content team proof all titles in advance and may make small changes to the wording or structure of the title.
In addition to your workshop title and description, your preferred presentation time must be submitted by Friday, September 27. Again, this is booked through the ScheduleOnce link provided.
As presentations are delivered on your own laptop, they can be edited right up until the event. We encourage you to share your presentation with the web Summit workshops manager in advance of the event to confirm your preparation.
Startup workshops will take place in a dedicated area on the exhibition floor. The area will seat 50-80 people in a classroom style with a small raised stage and podium for speakers.
The workshop area will have a minimum of 70” screen with a HDMI connection cable for your laptop, along with two microphones and a clicker to change presentation slides. If your laptop is not HDMI-compatible, please bring the correct adapter with you.
Yes. Laptops will not be supplied by Web Summit.
Your workshop should ideally last 45 minutes, although provisions will be made for workshops that run for 50 minutes. In the event that you require more time to take questions or talk to attendees, you can continue your discussions outside of the workshops area. Please notify the Web Summit workshops manager if you expect your workshop to take longer than 45 minutes.
